Bazia Antoni, now a citizen of The United States of America,
originally came from the city of Wau in the southern part of Sudan,
Africa. After coming to America, Bazia changed his name from Antoni
Bazia to Bazia Antoni. Now, whenever he hears his first name, it
reminds him of his heritage. Through lineage his family holds the
position of leadership within his village. The name Bazia means four
different things with regard to the village. They are as follows: The
name of the village, the name of the village language, the tribe name
and, the name of the family who holds the chief command position in the
village. Bazia's grandfather, Gumma Bazia, was the Chief Command of the
village. His father, Henry Bazia, was a naval officer and a diplomat.
He studied in the United States in 1983. He had a passion for human
rights and used his positions to further this cause. Compelled to carry
on his father’s legacy of speaking out for those people who cannot
speak for themselves, Bazia has heeded a call to help the Lost Boys
currently residing in the USA. With this goal in mind, he is working to
establish a nonprofit organization named Project Bazia.
